July 2008: The Tribune’s first Whittington warning

EVERYBODY get down to Highbury Fields on Saturday at noon and make a noise in the campaign to save the Whittington Hospital’s Accident and Emergency department. Pray for the rain to hold off. People deserve the chance to show how much they care about the service.

Some might think the agitation has come out of the blue, that all of a sudden patients, newspapers and politicians are raising merry hell. But if you see the clipping below, you can see the Islington Tribune have been warning about the end of the hospital as we know it for some time now… …this report was published IN JULY 2008. Journalist Tom Foot has led the way.
