End of the billboard war?

IF you were thinking that Chris Philp and Ed Fordham – election rivals in Hampstead and Kilburn – would flood every street corner in the next four weeks with the billboards, you might be wrong? The pair became the first local candidates to go for roadside hoardings earlier this years, blunderbuss tactics normally reserved for the national battle. Yet, I heard this week, that just as the battle hots and with so few days to go to now the big day, neither candidate stands much chance of booking any more. Advertisers – including a giant TV company on a determined promotional drive – have  apparently bagged up nearly all of the billboard spaces in the constituency for the critical last few weeks. That particular game looks like it could be over already.
