Blackpool at the bus stop

Blackpool FC

FUNNY who you bump into at bus stops… heading home from Kensington High Street this evening, a coach pulls up and who pops out: Everybody’s footballing heroes for the day, the Blackpool team.

Blackpool Ian HollowayStraight from Wembley where they beat Cardiff to win a place in the Premiership for the first time, there they were medals and trophy to boot. It’s going to be quite a party down in that there London tonight and who can blame them. No true football romantic cannot have smiled when they saw today that Blackpool, Blackpool, are in the top league. Whether they get smashed out of the league in one season, so be it. But you can’t take away the fact that today they wrote a sports story more uplifting than anything produced by the top teams this season.

What a stroke of luck for an old Hack!
Funny thing is that on this B-Berry their ties look yellow, for a moment I thought it was a Lib Dem convention.

Well done Blackpool! As someone planning to do more away trips next season, I’m looking forward to a weekend by the seaside. Sadly, the ground capacity is only 12,000 so away tickets will be like gold dust. Anyway, I hope the fixture computer is kind to the Arsenal and we get to go there in August or September rather than a midweek in winter…
