Tweeting Tories

THE order has gone out among Camden Conservatives: Get on Twitter – and leader Councillor Andrew Mennear is leading the way this week. Complete with balloon crown and his ‘Merkel’ nicknaming of Labour deputy leader Councillor Angela Mason.

And see above, he’s straight in with a gibe at the CNJ.

So far, Labour councillors in Camden have more or less had the Twitter playground to themselves with one member, Andrew Marshall, valliantly holding up the Tory side. Chris Philp tweeted for a while but his messages dried up after the General Election, but surely it can only be a matter of days hours minutes before @mennear clashes with @cllrtheo.

Until then, here is the letter that the sports pages have so far inexplicably yet to publish:

The Crow was covering the Labour Party Conference last week, so I hope he noticed the footballing preference of the ‘Camden born and raised’ Red Ed Miliband.

His first official outing was to a football club, but was it Arsenal?  Oh no!  In Ed’s case, the ‘Red Ed’ tag points to something much worse…  He went to Man U!

A warning to all Arsenal (and Spurs) fans, Ed Miliband is definitely not on your side!

Yours sincerely,

Cllr Andrew Mennear
Frognal & Fitzjohns Ward (Conservative)

  1. The CNJ may not have used it, but the report has appeared in print, rather surprisingly, in a Conservative Kentish Town byelection leaflet.

It’s relevance to political issues is unclear.
