THE full council circus returns on Monday night and as always the questions councillors will ask the Labour cabinet in power at Camden Town Hall have been circulated in advance. Nearly all of the 31 questions in this ask-anything session are probing into how Camden will deal with public spending cuts….
….but it’s not all doom and gloom. While colleagues ask about potential library closures, policing cuts and education spending, Belsize Conservative councillor Jonny Bucknell wonders:
QUESTION 4 (Oral)
TO THE: LEADER OF THE COUNCIL
Will the Leader outline the help Camden intends to give residents’ associations, community associations and business groups to organise celebrations for the Royal Wedding on 29th April 2011?
A grump from the party opposite sent me a text on Tuesday which simply read: ‘How many libraries does it take to put on a Royal Wedding?’ Maybe not everybody at Camden Council Towers feels like street partying with the happy couple right now.
