NEXT to the pictures of Madness and Blur and other bands with a debt to one of Camden’s most famous musical launchpads, a new canvass hangs above the bar of the Dublin Castle today. It’s a sweet gift from Amy Winehouse to Peggy Conlon, the pub’s landlady. Amy often used to dash behind the bar to help out, pulling pints and joking with the regulars. It was a way of returning to her old teenage haunts (and maybe her old life before she was super famous). Her message: “Peggy. Thanks for letting me behind the bar, I need the tips! Lots of Love Amy.. PS I got engaged the night this was taken.” A moment caught forever on Camden’s most prized wall of fame.
