Lesson of the day: Never put a photo like this outside the Emirates Stadium

A SCHOOLBOY error (or a stunning PR trick to get photos of their billboards uploaded to Twitter and Facebook) in the Sky Sports marketing room has been rectified. Posters advertising the new football season are usually carefully positioned in relation to what club is around the corner, but somehow a giant picture of Tottenham’s Kyle Walker appeared on one of the closest billboards to Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium.

As documented by Islington’s Ben Folley here (follow @BenFolley on Twitter), it was predictably defaced within seconds, sadly without any attempt at wit or humour. Just curse words. So, overnight, the swear-stained poster has been swapped for one of Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta. That Olympic spirit we’ve all been feeling will never extend to north London’s snarling football rivalry.

Anybody yearning for some archery or some handball even before the big kick off on Saturday?

Ah, football. Always brings out the best in people, eh.

Here’s a chant for you for the new season, Richard, (with apologies to the Onion): “The eleven grossly overpaid prima donnas currently residing in my stadium until they get a better offer are superior to the eleven grossly overpaid prima donnas currently residing in your stadium until they get a better offer”

    Reckon it will catch on?
