THE police helicopter has been circling Kentish Town this afternoon. You might have heard the blades shuddering or kept up on what their search for a man sadly suffering from dementia through its Twitter feed. It sounds like everything was resolved without any harm.
Whenever the chopper turns up in NW5, sooner or later somebody brings up one of the days it flew this way and didn’t exactly find what it was looking for. Way back in 2006, a boa constrictor was on the loose in Kentish Town and the heat-seeking scanners were sent out to find it.
One problem with that, a police spokesman explained later. Snakes are cold-blooded.
