A spot of Nietzsche

IT’S been an undeniably stressful time at the Quintin Kynaston Academy in Swiss Cottage where headteacher Jo Shuter was suspended for eight months while the management of school funds were investigated. She was then re-instated by the governors before resigning from the position.

The school has been through the mill, even landing some prominent, unwanted national press coverage.

A couple of parents have wondered whether whoever runs the school’s online noticeboard had all of the upheaval in mind when they turned to Nietzsche this week, reminding visitors: ‘What does not kill you makes you stronger.’

Richard = Highgate LP re-selected Cllrs Valerie Leach and Sally Gimson last night, and selected Oliver Lewis as the third prospective candidate – he’s a civil rights lawyer and chair of governors at Brookfield Primary school. Really tight contest between them and two other local candidates, Alison Kelly and Doug Beattie. Several rounds of elimination voting before Oliver finally scraped through. Really good turn-out too
