‘Yes we Joshua’: Former Kentish Town man takes on West Yorkshire swing seat

JOSHUA Fenton-Glynn, remember him? You know, Josh. Josh Josh. Well, the Halifax Courier reports he’s been selected as the Labour candidate in Calder Valley, West Yorkshire, which the party lost to a Tory surge in 2010.

Josh never became a councillor in Camden, it’s not quite clear if he ever wanted to, but he was the secretary of the Kentish Town branch of the Labour Party a while back.

Who knows? The trade union worker might just get to the House of Commons before some who did become councillors – and without having to sit through the pain of a full council meeting during his apprentice years.

While we wait and see how it gets on, here’s an old piece in the Standard which if you scroll down to the bottom of, you’ll see both Josh and the omnipresent Tom Copley confessing to/claiming credit for the Obama-whistle ‘Yes We Ken‘ campaign slogan for Ken Livingstone.

  1. His selection seems to have been rather controversial judging by reactions on Twitter: http://www.markpack.org.uk/43753/joshua-fenton-glynn-calder-valley/
