H&K: Sally buys hair-dryer while chasing ‘soft’ Tulip supporters

sallySALLY Gimson doesn’t give too many mind-blowing secrets away in her diary account of the final run-in for Labour’s Hampstead and Kilburn parliamentary selection.

Writing for the New Statesman today, she says she is worrying that she might not have the right hair for the job… so if she loses on Sunday we now all know why.

“For the first time in my life, I have invested in a proper hair dryer, but I am not sure this is enough,” writes Sally.

There is, BTW, new bounce among the Team Gimson briefers as the big day approaches with a growing belief that some of the support for rival and early front-runner Tulip Siddiq is ‘soft’ and that dithering minds can still be swayed changed. We’ll see.

Tulip will be happy with her own press today: she couldn’t have hoped for much more – four days before voting – than a big picture on the front page of the Ham & High and leading out the Standard’s analysis of the contest .

Hair-dryers and front pages shouldn’t mean writing off Sophie Linden, who insiders say is pushing hard here. It’s a genuine three-way tussle – nothing like the one-sided contest in Hornsey and Wood Green.

Don’t worry, folks, it’ll be over by the weekend’s end.
