Labour rival in the Lib Dem den
CHEEKY Hornsey and Wood Green parliamentary candidate Catherine West, the former Islington Council leader, is snapped on Twitter in the Three Compasses pub in Hornsey High Street with Diane Abbott. Cheeky, because the Lib Dem she seeks to oust – Lynne Featherstone – has her constituency offices upstairs. It’s in the Three Cs that Lynne conducts a lot of her profile newspaper interviews For Total Politics, she was “sitting on a battered sofa in Hornsey’s Three Compasses”, having a fizzy drink there with the Ham & High and photographed in the pub for a spread in the Independent on Sunday late last year. Niggly and provocative then for West to rock up to the lion’s den with a red rosette.
Great to meet Alison at the @Three_Compasses in #Hornsey today. Lovely place to dry off after a wet #labourdoorstep pic.twitter.com/wc1XvCXAh5

Politicians (even of the upstart variety) are well – weird.
