Scotland No voters ‘standing with the BNP and UKIP’? Camden Labour’s tweet-off

AS Camden’s councillors exchanged their full council meeting to go to the Let’s Stay Together rally on Monday, Kilburn councillor Douglas Beattie – who is for Scottish independence – had no intention of joining the march. Instead, he could be found on Twitter in a quite hectic to and fro with Labour Party colleague Tom Copley, the Kentish Town member who is a London Assembly member. Cllr Beattie pointed out that the BNP and UKIP were backing a no vote, while Tom said referenced the yes campaign accepting money from Brian Souter, who has in the past been accused of homophobia – which he denies.
