H & St P: Hello Simon Pitkeathley

SimonPitkeathley

IT’S deadline day for applications in Labour’s parliamentary selection contest in Holborn and St Pancras, so expect a few more names to crop up.

Simon Pitkeathley, the chief executive of the Camden Town Unlimited group, is one of those, apparently entering with the aim, if nothing else, of showing that business should be represented in the debates that will sparked by the process. The CTU is the ‘business improvement district’, where Camden Town’s businesses chip in extra money and Simon and his colleagues try to help boost trade in the area.

His links to the Labour Party are hardly a secret. He did press work for it in the 1990s and later had roles in the Prime Minister’s office.
