5k small businesses: Labour candidate’s love for Tory’s ‘truly indulgent’ crepes
IN at No. 1,983 on the Telegraph’s hit parade of 5,000 small businesses who have signed a letter backing David Cameron and the Conservatives is the La Creperie, the crepe stand in Hampstead High Street. Its owner Ed De Mesquita was at one stage a council election candidate for the party.
Surely, his support for the Tories is a dagger to Labour parliamentary candidate Tulip Siddiq, who is out there and on the record as being a major fan of Ed’s work.
“I went out in Hampstead on Saturday,” she blogged ahead of the last general election, “and obviously had to stop by La Creperie de Hampstead. If you’ve never been, you are missing out. Truly indulgent but I thought I deserved it after canvassing all day.”
Looks like she forgot to canvass the guy behind the counter.
The Lady has always had good taste.
