CABINET councillors will be bracing themselves for a demo outside the Town Hall later this week over the new housing allocations policy, which critics say is sweeping too many people off the waiting list for council homes. Fronting it all up will be new housing chief Councillor Pat Callaghan, who when she was handed the job we noted was taking on one of the toughest briefs at the council.
Julian Fulbrook was not running away from the issue, though. He had just done it a long time. As the Thames TV news archive continues to be drip-released on to YouTube, a jumbled catalogue of news clips, we see a slightly younger Cllr Fulbrook dealing with housing trouble in King’s Cross back in the 1980s.
