Where are they now? The Women’s Equality Party

Jo Shaw at election count

AFTER last week’s where are they now bit on the Camden Liberal Democrats, how could we leave out former parliamentary candidate Jo Shaw, who is still knocking on doors and asking for votes six years after her defeat in Holborn and St Pancras. These days, however, she is buzzing the bells, not for the Lib Dems but the Women’s Equality Party.

Jo, who for a brief moment in the middle of Clegg-o-mania (b. April 2010 – d. May 2010) may have thought she actually had a chance of putting the squeeze on Frank Dobson, left the Lib Dems behind when she dramatically resigned on the conference stage in protest at secret courts policy.

A couple of weeks ago she was back on familiar turf and could be found canvassing in Kentish Town with her new purple and green ribbon ahead of the London elections. She is a candidate again too, standing for a place on the assembly.
