LABOUR councillor and former mayor Lazzaro Pietragnoli, who if you’ve got a spare 90p you can see swinging around a lamppost Dick Van Dyke-style in a photo in today’s Ham & High, has revealed his “special feeling” for a woman whose name is rarely out of the local papers. But breathless Hampstead campaigner Jessica Learmond-Criqui should not be adding him to her fanclub mailing list.
“I have this special feeling for Jessica Learmond-Criqui: whatever she does, I’m naturally on the opposite side,” he remarked, pointing his followers to a CNJ article in which she raised concerns about how info about the controversial CS11 cycle lane plan was leaked from TfL.
Gossips responded by suggesting he really will be on the opposite side if JLC, the chairwoman of the Conservatives’ Frognal branch, is persuaded to one day stand for election. “She’s the perfect person to give [Labour MP] Tulip Siddiq a run for her money,” a Tory source exclaims excitedly, albeit providing a bittersweet assessment for the queue of Conservative councillors who fancy a crack at Hampstead and Kilburn at the 2020 general election.
