A second rate Brexit debate
YOU’LL have seen what happened in the Commons last night as Iain Duncan Smith replied to Keir Starmer’s call for a parliamentary vote on the terms of Britain’s exit from the European advice. Don’t take advice from a ‘second rate lawyer’, was the quote.
Cue lots of outraged responses to this name-calling from Labour supporters which at one stage led to Keir’s name trending on Twitter. But, as the post from Conservative councillor Andrew below shows, it wasn’t just people from the former director of public prosecutions own party who felt the line was a little below the belt.
Not a nice thing for IDS to say, but by jove who’d put their trust in a bloke with a Barnet like that?
