JONNY Bucknell isn’t on the slate for next year’s council elections, so maybe he is a little demob happy.

Tonight the Conservative councillor surprised us all once more by pulling out a mechanical rat and guiding it around the council chamber during a debate on Camden’s new waste contract and a change to shift refuse collections in some parts of the borough from weekly to fortnightly pickups.

The Labour council insist the changes will not lead to an increase in rats in Camden, but Jonny is clearly not so sure…

This farce is possibly better with a slight change of soundtrack, however.
