The subtle Spursfication of Camden’s mayor-making ceremony

NEWLY decorated in robes and our mayoral gold chain, Camden’s new mayor Richard Cotton afforded himself a wry smile as the choir squeezed into the public gallery serenaded the council chamber with ♫ Glory Glory Hallelujah ♫. More in today’s CNJ about Richard’s plans for the year ahead, but the outrageous Hotspurfication of last night’s mayor-making ceremony should not go ignored. Quite the opposite – it should be challenged.

What a nice choice of hymn, many of the distinguished guests may have thought, but Richard knew what he was doing. We knew. As they sang, he was almost certainly thinking about the reworded version, ♫ Glory Glory Tottenham Hotspur ♫, which plays at his beloved Spurs at every home match.

One verse even includes the disgraceful line: ‘We’re the pride of north London, we’re the kings of White Hart Lane’. Ugh! Stop it.

And to think everybody was saying what a nice man he is. Bring back Nadia Shah and her two-step garage beats.

Food for thought or rather daggers drawn? The night before, north London’s Arsenal supporting Cypriot community didn’t go to see their team beat Sunderland at Highbury – why? – because their champion, Jeremy Corbyn was going to address them.

FFsake how nauseating and disgraceful the second raters pruning themselves in Arsenal territory as they leave the poxy lane where the ARSENAL won 2 League titles i was there laughing at the mugs running for the exits and then there was a Boxing Day 5 0 larraping with chippy Brady doing his banana shot and of course We the ARSENAL sent them into the second division by thrashing them 6 0 in 1935 ho ho,

we all know Tottenham supporters are the most ignorant of the game world wide, ive even heard them screaming for offside from a throw in ffs lol

dump this Mayor now its an insult to Camden citizens lol

61 never again 61 never again
