Second place for top Guardian journalist… and her guinea pigs Tupac and Nas

TOP Guardian journalist Amelia Gentleman has won a string of prizes for her agenda-setting work uncovering the Windrush scandal, but she had to make do with a second-place rosette last week.

She had brought two guinea pigs to compete in the best pet competition at the annual Albert Street summer party in Camden Town.

Ms Gentleman (pictured), who is married to Conservative MP Jo Johnson, Boris’s brother, explained that the family’s furry friends are called Tupac and Nas after rappers. Not her, or Mr Johnson’s choice, she insists, but that of their children.

Near-neighbour Georgia Gould, the council leader, was the competition’s judge. She favoured a dachshund for first place.
