CAMDEN’S Labour AGM tonight lacks a dramatic internal vote for cabinet positions this year. Instead, Georgia Gould, the leader, has been given the power (controversially, to some) to pick her own top table. With Jonathan Simpson gone, she tonight told the group she had selected Anna Wright to replace him.
The Highgate councillor was asked before her election to the Town Hall in 2018 why people should vote for her, to which she replied that she was “really sensible”.
Simon Pearson, Marcus Boyland and Jenny Mulholland were the three councillors not to get the promotion they had been seeking, with Cllr Gould deciding not to shuffle out any more of the existing cabinet, telling tonight’s meeting that “stability” was required in a time of Covid crisis.
